Craig Sturt, aged 46, was apprehended in Richmond, a borough situated in south-west London, on Monday under the suspicion of non-compliance with a court appearance.

The Metropolitan Police has verified that Sturt failed to attend a scheduled hearing at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court in January.

Sturt faced his initial arrest on Christmas Day upon arriving in London from a flight that originated in New York. However, he neglected to attend the court hearing.

Scotland Yard has made public the specifics of the case, stating that the individual, who originates from Slough, Berkshire, is being accused of engaging in fraudulent activities to obtain services, unlawfully entering the restricted airside area without permission, and illegally boarding an aircraft.

Sturt successfully passed through security checkpoints and passport control at Heathrow Airport, boarding a British Airways flight on December 23, without the need to present any documentation.

According to court records, he admitted to the charges during the proceedings at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court. Conversely, British Airways released a statement affirming their cooperation with the authorities in their investigation.

Heathrow Airport’s representative also provided a statement, affirming that all individuals who enter airside areas are subjected to security screening, including the person involved in this particular incident. The airport is actively cooperating with the authorities in their ongoing investigation.

After being apprehended, he continues to be held in custody at a police station in London.
