Exploring the Reasons Behind Pakistan Cricket Board’s New Governance The Cabinet Division has taken over the responsibility of managing the affairs of the Pakistan Cricket Board, replacing the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, as the current government concludes its term.
The cricket governing body will now operate directly under the Prime Minister’s Office following the recent modifications made by the Naqvi-led government.
In light of the disputes between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, a significant development has occurred. The interim Prime Minister, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, has decided to transfer the responsibilities of the cricket governing body to the Cabinet Division.
A notification has been issued stating that “In accordance with rule 3 of the rules of Business 1973, the Prime Minister has decided to transfer the administrative control of PCB from IPC to Cabinet Division.”
The Pakistan Cricket Board has been officially transferred to the Cabinet Division.
The top cricket governing body of the country continues to function as an independent entity, following its own constitution and raising funds from its own sources.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination was tasked with acting as a liaison between the cricket board and the federal government.
