A Nation Mourns: Nine Pakistani Lives Lost In Iran
A Nation Mourns: Nine Pakistani Lives Lost In Iran .On Wednesday, the foreign office announced that the remains of the nine Pakistani individuals who were tragically murdered by unknown assailants in a border region of Iran last week have been transported to Pakistan via air.
The individuals from Pakistan were workers residing in an automobile repair facility where they were employed. The responsibility for the killings, which transpired in Saravan within Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province on Saturday, has not been claimed by any particular group. This sorrowful event unfolded just before the scheduled visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian to Pakistan on Monday.
Iran and Pakistan have been making efforts to repair their relationship following a series of missile strikes exchanged between the two nations, targeting alleged militant sites within their respective territories earlier this month.
In a statement, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson for the foreign ministry, announced that the mortal remains of nine Pakistani nationals, who tragically lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Sistan-Baluchestan Province of Iran on 27th January 2024, will be transported by air today from the Taftan border to the city of Multan in Pakistan. She expressed heartfelt condolences and assured that the thoughts and prayers of the nation are with the grieving families during this difficult time.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abdollahian emphasized the importance of collaboration during his recent trip to Pakistan. He highlighted that the militants taking refuge along the shared border between Iran and Pakistan were receiving support from external sources. However, he expressed confidence that through joint cooperation, these militants would be overcome.
Pakistan has consistently leveled allegations against its neighboring countries, Afghanistan and India, for fueling instability in its Balochistan province, which shares a border with Iran. However, both Afghanistan and India have vehemently denied these accusations. Furthermore, Islamabad and Tehran have frequently traded accusations of neglecting the presence of militants along their common border.
