Aisamul Haq Qureshi, the renowned tennis player,Aisamul Haq Makes History as President of Pakistan Tennis Federation has been chosen as the new president of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) for the period of 2024 to 2028.
The PTF SDA Tennis Complex in Islamabad hosted the election to select new office-bearers, with participation from representatives of all affiliated units of the PTF.Aisamul Haq Makes History as President of Pakistan Tennis Federation.
Aisam emerged as the winner after a tightly contested election, securing 8 votes for the presidential position, while his rival Maj General (retd) Asghar Nawaz received 7 votes.
Version 1: Zia Uddin Tufail, a retired Lieutenant Colonel, has been chosen as the Secretary General of the PTF, while Arif Qureshi has been appointed as the new Treasurer. Zia Uddin secured 8 votes in comparison to Suleman Javed’s 7.
Arif Qureshi secured a total of 9 votes, surpassing his rival Umar Farooq who received 6 votes.
After securing victory in the election, Aisam expressed his enthusiasm to the press, stating, “I am filled with great excitement over this triumph. Throughout my extensive 25-year career in sports, I have consistently strived to bring honor and recognition to my nation. As the president of the federation now, I am committed to delivering nothing short of excellence.”
Aisam, aged 43, expressed that he has gained extensive experience at the global stage and is committed to sharing his expertise with aspiring Pakistani players.
He expressed his determination to elevate Pakistan tennis to unprecedented levels and dedicate himself to enhancing the welfare of players, coaches, and trainers. He assured that he would not let his nation down.
