Babar Azam creates a milestone in the history of PSL.On Sunday, Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi, reached a significant milestone in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by surpassing 3,000 runs. This remarkable achievement makes him the first batsman to accomplish this feat.
In an exhilarating pursuit, the ex-captain of Pakistan cricket team achieved his 29th half-century by scoring 68 runs off 42 deliveries. This remarkable feat comprised of 4 sixes and 4 fours.
Babar has recently joined an exclusive group in the history of PSL, marking a remarkable achievement that highlights his exceptional consistency and determination to score runs.
Except for the 2016 season, the renowned Pakistani batsman has consistently maintained an average above 38 throughout his career.Babar Azam creates a milestone in the history of PSL However, his participation was limited to just two innings during that particular season.
Peshawar Zalmi won the coin toss and chose to field first against the Quetta Gladiators. However, their bowling lacked discipline and direction during the initial innings, allowing Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel to dominate their bowlers in all areas of the field.
The Gladiators amassed a formidable total of 206-5, with Saud Shakeel and Jason Roy contributing 74 and 75 runs each. Saud was awarded the man of the match title for achieving his first half-century in PSL during his debut.
With the exception of Saim Ayub and Babar Azam, Peshawar failed to display any resilience as their middle order crumbled once the two opening batsmen were dismissed. Credit goes to the spin maestro Abrar Ahmed for his exceptional bowling performance during the middle overs, as well as M. Amir’s flawless execution of death bowling.
Quetta Gladiators are scheduled to face Lahore Qalandars this evening at the Gaddafi Stadium; however, there is a possibility of rain affecting the match.
